What was the most frustrating part of finding a contractor?

I would say, first of all you need someone who is willing to come out. That was very frustrating. Then once I did find somebody, that was listening to what I wanted. They all had ideas that would work for my space but I had a vision for what I wanted. Missy was very good at that. Many times, we went back to the table and redesigned and adjusted based on my needs and I thought that was very important.

Why did you end up choosing Pittsburgh’s Best?

I did my research and looked at the reviews, and that helped. I also think the design team, the end result of the quality, and going into the showroom and seeing everything live and what it could look like made a difference.

Is there anything the designer did to exceed your expectations?

I’ll say it again: listen. We went through three or four different design options. At first, I had this big dream and wanted to do everything. Then we ran into budget and said that was not going to work. We adjusted it, came back to the table, and ultimately found what could work for my budget.

Is there anything the installation crew did to exceed your expectations?

Yes. Tobey was phenomenal. I did not live here during the renovation, so I communicated with him through the app. Every time I sent a question, he responded immediately. If I came out and saw something or had a question, he came out immediately. Sometimes that meant coming out on a Saturday morning.

What was your favorite part about working with Pittsburgh’s Best?

I think it was the high level of trust I had from the beginning. I left my home for three months and they were here. When I came to visit, it was clean. The app was great because I could check progress photos every day. The communication back and forth was great, and everyone I interacted with on site was friendly and attentive.

What would you tell someone who is considering hiring Pittsburgh’s Best?

I’m a believer that you get what you pay for. When I started this journey, I was a little sticker shocked. But as I kept bringing in different contractors, I kept coming back to Pittsburgh’s Best. If it works for your budget, it is worth the investment, not just based on the end result but based on the team involved from day one.

What is your favorite feature of this remodel?

I have two. I love my island, and I love my soaking tub. When I was designing the bathroom, we were designing it around the tub. That was always a dream that I wanted.

"Best experience I’ve had with a contractor in . . . maybe ever. The most important thing to me is communication. Pittsburgh’s Best Remodeling® was extremely responsive. Onsite workers were respectful, friendly, and very competent. Project was managed without feeling that I was being nickel and dimed by scope changes. We’re extremely happy with our remodel.
